Anyone can practise, whatever their age or ability. Yoga is a system of personal development that originated in India thousands of years ago. The postures or asanas exercise every part of the body, stretching and toning muscles and joints. They also work on the internal organs and glands.

Breathing exercises or pranayama help energize and revitalize the body as well as helping to calm the mind and soothe the nervous system.

The relaxation in yoga helps us to liberate our resources of energy – helps us to let go instead of holding on. A few minutes deep relaxation can be far more beneficial than many hours of restless sleep.
